Quote from: Bernie 2 on December 18, 2008, 04:11:42 PM Thats another problem, nothing happens with the keyboard with the PC booted up although I can use the keyboard in BIOS/setup. If your keyboard is USB, same deal... Quote from: Dias de verano on December 18, 2008, 04:13:24 PM This is nonsense. How so? My company WORKS with Dells all the time. I see this most often when I install the OS with a PS/2 keyboard/mouse. When I take the machine onsite and PLUG the USB keyboard/mouse that COMES with it, they don't respond on the "Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to log in" screen. Sometimes, after waiting a few minutes, Windows plug and play will detect and install the drivers without any interaction and both keyboard and mouse will respond. Other times, it'll require user interaction with the "FOUND New Hardware Wizard" after logging in. Two workarounds for the latter case: 1) PS/2 keyboard/mouse (which isn't an option for newer Dells) 2) Remote Desktop into the PC from another computer and go through the Found New Hardware Wizard that WAY. |
