Solve : Registry problems?

Answer»

Hi PEOPLE, ive been having problems with lagging while playing css. Ive tried fixing the lag numerous ways without luck. The lagg only started after a fresh reinstall of windows XP. Before the reinstall i had no such problems.

Ive been instructed to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\MULTIMEDIA\SystemProfile in the registry and go to NetworkThrottlingIndex and change the value.
Only THING is i cant see MULTIMEDIA\SYSTEMPROFILE in my registry. Its not there.

Also when i go to services.msc and look for the service Multimedia Class Scheduler i cant see it either.

Anyone know whats the problem here?

Please help.Where is this advice coming from ? ?

Did it ever play correctly ? ?did you reinstall all drivers after the reinstall?Steam support were giving me the help.

It always played flawlessly, its only on css, not happening on other games.

After reinstall, i installed all the drivers, sound, graphics and so on, also made sure i had the most up to date. Thing is it could be the new nvidia drivers thats causing the problem and i dont know about it. But i cant get the old drivers before that.Dear dont do anything with registry editor.?, what you mean?Quote from: Bishu on January 06, 2011, 07:09:25 AM

He means do not do what is mentioned in your first post. If you make a mistake you can do irreparable damage to your PC.Making a change in that registry key isn't going to hurt anything - even if you screw it up. But I don't believe it will help anything either. And if the key doesn't exist you obviously can't make any CHANGES in it anyway.True, but what i dont understand is, why isnt the key there.http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itprovistasp/thread/4f275ed8-fa95-49b2-ac0f-0902b82a5013/
