Answer» I had to reinstall windows xp. now i cannot SEE a LOT of the files i had on my pc.? I did not format the drive. when i LOOK at my c drive, i can see there is 90gb of stuff on the drive. how can i see it/ access it? when i reinstalled it, windows did make me choose a new user name. not SURE if that is an issue? also, my desktop is totally blank and that is where a lot of files were. It sounds LIKE you reinstalled XP on top of itself. Your old files under C:\Documents and Settings are under a different user name. Check C:\Documents and Settings\whatever your old user name is\My Documents (or Favorites or Desktop)How to Take Ownership of Files
