Answer» I want to reinstall windows me on my computer because it has been acting so weird lately and everything I have tried has not done anything. I place the system restoration kit disk in and follow the directions(restart my computer)and a menu is supposed to come up asking if i want to reinstall windows. On the Gateway display that appears when you first start your computer, look for the words, "Press XX key to enter SETUP" or something like that where XX stands for the key you have to press. I have a Gateway PC that ORIGINALLY came with Windows Me and i think it was the Del key, but yours may be different. Once the BIOS setup is displayed (it will be a text-only display with white text on a colored background) follow the instructions on the display to switch from page to page TILL you find the page where you may change the boot order. Follow the instructions to change the boot order to boot to the CD-ROM drive FIRST. Then save the changes and exit (probably by pressing the F10 key). Now, when you start your computer and put in the CD, the system restoration should start. Make sure you put in the CD marked number one, first.
