Answer» Hi all, now tell me if i cant do this. i WANT to USE remote desktop to connect to a family members computer that is ACROSS the united states. i am in MI they are in OR with remote desktop work? or do i have to be on a network for some reason?I believe the answer is, "If you're not connecting to the host computer through a VPN, you'll need to use the ACTUAL IP address of the host computer instead of the computer name."
