Solve : Remote Desktop keeps changing my task bar layout even though its locked?

Answer»

Hi,

As I have to use quite a lot of applications for my work, I like to use a double height task bar so I can quickly click on icons to switch applications, and I ALSO use have the language bar on the task bar to I can switch between Chinese and English typing.

Whenever I switch to, minimiise or maximise any REMOTE Desktop application, it changes my tak bar layout. The first ACTION changes the width of the langauage bar, the second action makes the langauge bar disappear, the third makes the icons single height with the langauge bar above them, and the forth reduces the whole task bar to single height.

I thought that locking the task bar was supposed to STOP this sort of thing happenning. Has anyone any idea how to stop Remote Desktop from screwing up my local task bar? or can anyone suggest an alternative way of managing my icons so that I can see loads of them at once?

ThanksIt'd be good to know what browser...At first I thought what's the relevance, but as Windows Explorer is associated with IE, then I guess it makes a difference.

I'm still using IE6, as some of my company's apps still need it. Oh and its the same laptop as the other post, so its XP SP2.

BTW, for my browsing I use Mozilla 3.5.11I THINK I heard of this problem, it's a known issue with remote desktop+the language bar, if I remember correctly.
