Solve : REMOVED "TOOL" ICON FROM IE8?

Answer»

I am running XP with IE8 and accidentally removed the "tool" icon from the task bar. How can I get it back?
If I have to reinstall IE 8 will I LOOSE my favorites?Right clik the toolbar and select Options....Tools menu? After right-clicking, checkmarked Menu bar and or COMMAND bar. This did not work. The tool icon I need lets me add or remove buttons.I am not sure what you mean but see this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/198177This web SITE directs me to "view" plus "tool bars" and then select "customize". However "customize is not a option on the drop down. Thank you for your help.Quote from: patio on NOVEMBER 14, 2011, 01:59:17 PM

"tool" icon

Is this the tool icon you REFER to in IE?
Right-click below IE's URL box then checkmark Command bar. Then right-click again then go to Customize and choose Show only icons. This did not work, but it took me down the path to success. Thank you very much.Quote from: fesbow on December 02, 2011, 11:01:45 AM

Could you please explain that?If I remember correctly I right clicked the upper task bar and selected toolbars, and then customize and
add/remove buttons. Thanks again.Good, I'm glad to hear that you got it sorted out.
