Answer» Since my computer crashed 3 months ago, I cannot change the name of my photos on windows "My Pictures". Used to be easy but now shows this message: "If you change a file name extension, the file may become unusable. Are you sure you want to change it" Sure ENOUGH, it becomes unusable. I am running XP Pro and have Webshots as my default system for downloading from my camera to My pictures" . It's the easiest way. How can I correct this problem???It says that same thing on mine xp home what you have to do is rename the file but KEEP the same file extension jpg bmp or whatever it is cause otherwise it will not work To avoid this in future, open a folder, click Tools - Folder OPTIONS, View, and CHECK the box to hide file extensions for known file types.
