Answer»

Okay, you're still not answering the question. Are you actually booting to the CD? If so, take us STEP BY STEP through what you see on the screen and what you do.yes im booting to the cd.

1 press any key to booot cd
2 cd starts set up
3 choice of clean set up or PRESSING R to repair
4 if clean set up is chosen, goes to user agreement, accept user agreement and then bsod
5 if pressing R to repair asked to choose which windows installation to repair choose the C;/ once choosen bsod againThen it's a hardware issue almost for sure...
What new hardware/drivers have changed since this PC worked ? ?im not sure as im attempting to fix it for a friend, i shall ask him tommorrow

in the mean time anything i can try?Well, you can check the RAM and the hd:

To check the ram, download MEMTEST (http://memtest.org/). Burn it to a cd using a DEDICATED .iso BURNING utility (http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm), make sure the cd drive is at the top of the boot order in bios, then boot to the newly created cd and run the utility.

To check the hd, go to the website of the hd manufacturer and download their diagnostic utility. Burn it to cd, boot to it and run it.Additional information for that error can be found HereQuote from: jason2074 on July 31, 2011, 10:56:45 PM
