Solve : Replaced file recovery??

Answer»

So here is what happened, Not paying attention, not enough coffee, whatever. I went to copy some photos from a disc to a folder that already had photos in it. This disc was from a friend at a trip we had just taken, and wanted to add his photos to mine. I'm guessing that our photos were named the same, (IE: dhsc0012). So when his photos were ADDED to my folder, it replaced all my photos. I had already deleted them off the memory card in the camera, so that is not an option. Now is there any way I can get my photos back, or am I stuck trying to remember their images when I'm 80?

Thanks for the help.If your Lucky you might be able to get them back.

Try a Program Like R studio

Its made for recovering Deleted files and stuff,

The way Windows used to work is it would simply Rename a file with a special Character that made it invisible, but i don't think thats how it works any more. undelete was very usefull back thenWell i appreciate the try, but I was UNABLE to recognize the photos that I was looking for. I did find a few that I deleated a few years ago.

Any other ideas out there would be appreaciated. If they were overwritten by files with the same name that complicates it even further. You can try here:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=file+recovery+software&btnG=Google+Search

THe more you use that hard drive that they are stored on, the less likely you are to ever get them back, if that can be done at all. Sorry.Well, I think we are getting a bit closer but still not quite there. Under a folder of recently viewed items, I have found some photos that have the names of the files that were replaced. When I go to open the photo to see what it is, is fades out and won't let me see it. All I can see is the icon(not actuall photo) and the name. Properties is not giving me anything usefull, and when I try to use a recovery program to try to restore it, I KEEP getting and error. Something about it being a damaged file. I'm thinking this is a bad sign. There are other photos in the same folder that I can open up and view, but they are not the ones I have been looking for. So if there are anymore ideas about this, or a way around what I have tried so far, I'm all ears (or eyes).

Thanks again! You really need a program to recover deleted files. You need a friend with a computer, who will be willing to help you, because you have to move your HARDDISK in his computer. Don't install or copy any new files or programs on the harddisk with the photos (this is your harddisk). On his computer install the recovery program and try to recover your files, from your harddisk. Maybe you'll have some luck. Or else, at 80's... You KNOW
