Solve : Replication Problem in DFS(Distributed File System) shared?

Answer»

Hi All,

I am working on two SEPARATE AD domain, One domain is edh and another one is ind-del domain. I have some SHARED folders through DFS (Distributed File System). I have added some files on deposites folder in edh domain login but that shared not SHOWING updation of these files on deposites folder in ind-del domain login. Showing me updation in edh domain login but not in ind-del domian login. I think there is DFS replication problem on shared in ind-del domain. Am not aware of DFS shared replication issues. How it can be configured, applied or resolved? Can any body help me on this? Highly obliged someone in helping me. So, Please do the needful. Looking forward to hear from someoen soon.

Thanks a lot Compuet Hope

To answer your question with a question. How do you know it is not updated?
In some of the MS networking, what you see is not what you get. The visual representations may not show the current state of things unless you have a thing that will refresh the current status. Providing a nice report to ANYBODY or everybody is NOT the key purpose of the DFS. It does have its own authentication method and works to provide piratical redundancy.
If you can prove that is is not working as outlined in the MS documentation, send a report to Microsoft with you proof. Bit if you are doing some kind of thing outside of the intent of the system there is no guarantee that it will wok.
In a large system, expect apparent latency. But the system will TAKE care of this if you let it.
That is all I can offer. The documentation is heavy stuff. I need to get some sleep.Quote

two separate AD domain
OK. Good Morning. And I re read your post.
Do MOT confuse DFS with an older product with that name.
Why do you think you can have more that one domain in the Microsoft DFS?
The only documentation I have found, so far, says do not try what you did.
The Domains have to be in the same forest and use the same FRS.
This link defines the FRS that must be used in Arrive Directory.
