Answer» Im trying to run "STEAM" and "HALF-LIFE 2". Every time I open either program an error message appears saying:
" A required .DLL file, OLEACC.DLL, was not found"
I have Windows 98 (Not SE) and I was not able to locate this file in the system folder. I searched this file in GOOGLE and was directed to a site that allowed me to download this file. I DOWNLOADED it into C:/Windows/System
After booting I tried accesing the applications again but an error message appeared saying"
"The OLEACC.DLL file cannot start. Check the file to determine the problem."
PLEASE HELP!Sounds like a Windows problem...
[glb]Flame[/glb]Try placing the file in windows\system32, if not working try placing it somewhere in the half-life 2 directory. They usually have a folder where they keep there dlls.
The best option would be to CONTACT half-life 2 TECHNICAL support.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/232972/EN-US/Thank you very much for your help...I tried placing the .DLL file into other folders suggested but that still did not work. The most recent post with a Microsoft support website link fixed the error. I APPRECIATE everybody's help and I hope that I don't need to bother you with any more microsoft issues
(Knowing Microsoft there will be a lot more problems)
