Answer» new to the forums, but am an intermediate pc user. My computer is older, and is having some issues, but the most aggravating is being able to open a folder in an existing window. No matter what SETTING I go in and change, nothing happens. I go to tools and "folder options" and change it to "open in existing window" but nothing happens. Any ideas?
Thanks.
--Topic Locked and Marked as Resolved in result of being solved -ZylstraWhat operating system are you using?
In Folder Options, have you tried to SET the general tab to display it in the same window, thats with a browser style box, back and forward button?
Are you using the regular Windows Folders, or are you exploring folders and files? Are you saying that when you click a folder it is opening in a separate window, or that it is not opening at all?okay fixed the problem. Yes it was with browser style window, and tried that didn't work. Seemed to be a registry problem, here's the fix: HTTP://support.microsoft.com/kb/555439/en-us
