Answer» I cant turn off my windows xp pro, always restarts insteads of shutdown.Have a look on here : http://www.aumha.org/win5/a/shtdwnxp.php Tony umm unplug the POWER line ? or maybe its a virusIs it POSSIBLE that when you select Start -> Shutdown and the Shutdown option WINDOW pops up that it's currently set to "Restart" and you haven't changed it to one of the "Shutdown" OPTIONS?Has it always done that or did it start after an installation event..new SOFTWARE, or update..any kind of change just before the problem occured. when you click on Shutdown hover your Mouse over the Standby button and push the Shift key and see if it turns to Hibernate..if not! check your power settings in Control Panel.
