Solve : RTHDCPL.EXE Illegal System DLL Relocation?

Answer»

Help anyone?
I have the above error message and the clarification of the error below:
The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied the address reserved for Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the dll should be contacted for a new dll.
Any ideas what I need to do? Who is vendor for instance?

THANKS

CasherThe authentic file relates to Real Player HOWEVER has been used as an exploit in the past....what are you using for protection programs ? ?

Restart into safemode by hitting F8 on reboot repeatedly. Run all your SCANS and let them fix whatever they find...

Then post back with details of what you ran...Hi there,

I tried Safe Mode I run AVG & Adaware. I don't have any REGISTRY repairing software.

I still have the error message.

Any ideas where I should go for dll?

I put the code above into a search engine and results came up with REALTEK.

Any ideas??You could try un-installing Real Player and then DLoad and install a FRESH version.

But if the error message continues let us know as it could be malware...Below is a fix...

From the Mothership...I had already uninstalled Real, it didn't work.

I then tried the hot fix link you provided and it worked!

Brilliant, thanks for the help Patio.

Do you get these problems with Apple I wonder?

CasherGlad to hear you're fixed up...drop in anytime. Thanks Patio - had the same problem and you cured it.I have no idea how I ended up here, but I had the same problem as casher. The key word is HAS, thanks to Patio and the MOTHERSHIP it is now gone. This whole computer world is new to me but it is just too cool the help that is out there. Thank you very much for your time and help. I laughed so hard on the"MOTHERSHIP" deal, cause sometimes I feel like I am on another planet. All I wanna do is GAME, once again thanks.
