Solve : Run DOS Process before Windows XP Launches?

Answer»

The following procedure was supposed to run a bat FILE BEFORE XP Launched.
# run regedit.exe
# goto --> HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
# Create New Value
type : REG_SZ
name : whatever
data : YourBatchFile.bat

Close, but no Cigar ! Windows still Launched, then the BAT file executed, but the Windows start button and all desktop icons were accessableQuote from: ksiemb

but the Windows start button and all desktop icons were accessable

What are you trying to do here?
The batch process is a msdos program which requires a password.
Program loops to itself if password is wrong, not allowing the boot process to continue to LAUNCH windows. System has to be turned off and on to start over.

works fine in win98 environment.What's wrong with the ordinary Windows login password?
NOTHING. I JUST WANT NO ACCESS TO WINDOWS AT ALL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES UNLESS THE DOS PASSWORD IS GIVENI see you found the capslock button.Why not password the BIOS?
