Solve : Running "network 4". Where is 1,2 and 3??

Answer»

I'm running W7 32-bit on my desktop.  When my computer boots, an alert pops up above my system tray that says "network 4".  Where in the registry or elsewhere are 1,2 and 3 and can I get rid of the designations?Hi rbdaves,
I think you're talking about the default-assigned network names microsoft SETS up when you connect to a location.
To delete them, open the network and sharing CENTER, then click on the house or bench icon for your network. (It should be LOCATED under the View your active networks).
In the window that appears, click on Merge or delete network locations. Here you can delete all of the networks you don't use. In the future, you can set a network name by clicking on the house icon for your network and assigning a name (instead of the default 'Network').
