Answer» Had message yesterday, when on a forum - EVERY time I went to type something:
Runtime Error Do You Wish To Debug? Line 1 Error: Syntax Error
Any clues?
I clicked 'No' every time and the box disappeared, only to come BACK almost immediately.
Help appreciatedWhat browser are you using? What forum was this? Has this happened before? What happened before this started? What protection do you have? You can try windows REGISTRY repair.
http://www.majorgeeks.com/Free_Window_Registry_Repair_d5461.htmlI'm on Internet Explorer - not sure which VERSION.
It was an art forum that I visit more than once per day, but it's not always that forum, so yes, it's happened before - but I don't always get the same error message.
I have PC Tools Firewall Plus, Avast Anti Virus
Go to Tools --> Internet Options --> Advanced --> scroll to Browsing and MAKE sure disable script debugging is checked for both IE and other. That should sort it. Also, check the FAQ section, you could do with some spyware protection such as Spybot and Adaware in addition to your firewall and antivirus. Thanks for that, Callum.
Am off now to try it out - and also to read/digest the FAQs!!Also, to find the version of your Internet Explorer do the following. Open IE. At the top, click Help Click 'About Internet Explorer'
A small box will pop up in the middle of the screen that tells you about that browser. This works for almost every program too. Thanks for that Carbon Diox - I'm on IE 6.
You learn something new every day!!
And - Callum - tried what you suggested and so far, fingers crossed, no Error Messages!!
Thank you both. You're welcome, GLAD I could help. Feel free to post back if you have any more issues. I figured you were probably on IE6, people on IE7 generally know about it because it is an update and fairly new.
