Solve : SAFE mode .. need to save document .. HELP!!?

Answer»

Hello,
I have windows 98.

Been running in SAFE mode for awhile... doesn't matter to me if it runs in SAFE mode..only use it to type notes then transfer notes to another computer.

Cannot copy FILE to diskette...get a write protected error..even when I slide the plastic piece on diskette.

Cannot copy to flash drive..computer doesn't recognize the USB drives (PROBABLY CAUSE it's in SAFE mode??

Any help would be appreciated!!

Jenniferfirst of all, if you run SAFE mode with NETWORKING, then you have connection to the internet and therefore, you can email the said documents to yourself and just download the files on the other computer you have.

and I wonder why you need to be consistently running your windows 98 in safe mode? does normal mode have some problem?Hello,
Thanks for replying...

I have a network (peer to peer) , but I am not running this computer on the network..

I have a 70 year old MAN working part-time for me....
His computer knowledge is ZILCH....but he knows how to type !!

Therefore, (since I'm too cheap to buy a new computer) i just let him type his notes on the "dinosaur" (as we call it)...

Thanks!
Jennifer

Go to the website of the usb flash drive manufacturer and download the drivers for Windows 98. Save them to a floppy disk, install them from the disk into the old machine. Now the old computer will recognize the flash drive and you can move your documents.
