Solve : Saving Excel files to rw cd?

Answer»

I use Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition on a Dell computer. Using Windows Explorer, I have saved my Excel files onto a RW CD. During the save process, the files are changed to "Read Only" status. From that point, I am unable to update the files with new information (save over the existing data as you would on your hard drive). I get a message that I don't have access to the file - "see system administrator"

How do I change the files on the RW CD to ALLOW them to be written over with updated information? You cannot SIMPLY modify the data on an RW disc. You need to Format the disc (can be done through My Computer).

If I were you, I would get a USB Flash Drive. They can come pretty cheap and can store from 512mb to 8000mb.
The data can ALSO be modified with ease, just as if it were saved on the Computer.
