Solve : Scanner and Camera wizard problem?

Answer»

Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong and it has been a long time since I used X.P. or camera software.

When you plug in a camera and go to my computer the camera will be shown as any other msd or pen drive, you can click on it and view the content but nothing is imported on to the computer unless you physically highlight and drag and drop.

I think our friend at some point must have had software installed which may have done the importing AUTOMATICALLY as soon as it detected the camera, without that software he must import it manually as described above.

If these files are movie files he can view them with this http://www.videolan.org/ it’s free and will play almost any format including stills but cannot edit.
From what he has said the computer has detected the camera the problem seems to be that he does not know how to manually import the files.

I must agree with BC the really heavyweight editing software is DESIGNED for the professionals and for most of US the small free editing software is a much better option.
Hello aussie11

Thanks for your post.

Usually when I download still Windows pops up asking me if I wish to transfer the files using Windows. I created a folder and say yes.

In this particular case, an icon for Windows Media Player came on screen which I didn't understand. That's been resolced now, because I had, mistakenly, put the camera setting on 'Movie'.

The reason I mentioned Photoshop as opposed to other good applications, such as Paint Shop (gimp is ALSO ok for certain things), is that that is what is installed on my work PC. I don't take the PHOTOS - I am just asked sometimes to make them more presentable. Certainly, other programmes can do that, but the powers that be would then need an extra licence.

For really professional work, however, such as that used for airbrushing models in magazines, and on billboards, probably none can rival Photoshop.

Happy 2011

High1Hello!
I tried to attach a Sam-sung mobile on my computer, but from who knows what reason, it appears a message about a connection error...even if I already installed the software from the CD.... Hello Jon

I know nothing about mobile devices, I am afraid.

You might want to post your message as a new message - you will get more of a response.

Cheers
