Solve : ScreenSaver properties (or lack thereof)? |

Answer» I'm using the company laptop at work with Windows XP and I have admin rights. Are they 'local' admin rights to or 'network' admin rights? Two different stories.Local. They have a standard screensaver that they want all users to have and that's fine. They also want (and have set) the screensaver timeout to 10 mins, which is NOT fine for me. To give an EXAMPLE, I often run PowerPoint presentations at meetings and there's nothing worse when the screensaver interupts the presentation 10 mins into it, and because the screensaver is password protected, which once again is fine, pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL each time the screensaver cuts in to ENABLE the entering of password is a total pain. Ask the Admin to turn yours off...I think asking the administrators nicely and explaining your POINT will get across better than hacking their settings, that'll just make 'm enforce the rules with more force.. This is true and I'll probably resort to this (even tho these IT guys don't know the meaning of being reasonable). It was more a case of satisfying my curiousity as to how this was achieved. |
