Solve : scvhost.exe?

Answer»

Windows cannot find 'scvhost.exe'. Make sure you typed the NAME correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.

that can't be good.sCvhost.exe is a trojan & you should immediately scan.

sVchost.exe is an essential part of the Windows Operating System.

Which one are you POSTING about :-?

Under what circumstances is the error message displayed :-?check to see if SVCHOST.exe is located in C:\WINDOWS\system32. If it is, then you are posting about SCVHOST.exe, which is the previously mentioned trojan. You should then search for a FIX for the trojan, or do a virus scan.Download and run AVG Anti-Virus and AVG Anti-Spyware,
both are free and good programs.

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1right as i LOG onto my computer it gives me two messages stating "Windows cannot find 'scvhost.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search." i close one and right underneath it is the second one. then a third one pops up after closing the first two that says it can't run scvhost.exe, obviously because it can't find it.

i searched for svchost and was able to find it in my system32 folder so i guess it is the virus which is odd CONSIDERING i did a virus scan and deleted a trojan and now it's clean and yet continues to do this.

Definitley a virus of sort.

B.Run hijackthis and remove the entry that is calling for the scvhost.exe file.
CAUTION: Do not get confused with the names. You could click start, run, type 'msconfig' and go to startup tab and uncheck the malicious program (but be aware don't uncheck important programs). then try to get rid of the problem with anti-virus/spyware.
