Answer» So the other day I come home from work around 8 in the morning, since I work night shift. I turn on my laptop and notice that it waits at the light blue screen where it shows the stats of the computer, like what the OS is, HD info, and the processor for like 5 minutes. It finally boots up to Windows and it takes so long for everything to come up and load, when it usually happens right away, and none of my major programs will open. They all receive errors. Programs like Itunes, AIM, Sony Vegas. there is also a Net Framework error, and a problem with Microsoft. net runtime. Smaller programs work such as VLC media player, Paint, Notepad., internet explorer. There are also some other weird things going on. When I open Mozilla Firefox, the scroll bar is on the LEFT side of the screen instead of the right. Flash is no longer installed, or so it says. Also the customized LOOK of it isn't there. Ran Spybot, found a bunch of things but problem still exists. Also deleted some programs I don't need anymore. Light blue stats screen also no longer waits for minutes. That was the only thing back to normal. Later on I ran MALWAREBYTES the full version, and another antivirus program, still nothing. Internet explorer was absolutely FINE, and could run flash. However major programs still wouldn't open, and Mozilla is still screwed up. Then today I ran a Windows Live One scan online. It found nothing. It seemed as if after every virus scan, my computer got worse. I restarted my laptop, and it said the profile could not be loaded. I kept trying, and it said the same thing. I left if off for about 5 minutes with the battery out, PUT if back in, when it got to the light blue screen it waited for about 10 seconds, then bam dark blue screen pops up for about half a second and the laptop restarts again. I'm hoping this isn't the blue screen of death, it seemed to quick for it to be. I don't have a full version of Windows XP Home to do a repair, or even the disk it came with. I can't lose the files I have on here. They're to important. The hard drive also makes a click, click, clickkkkk sound when it's stressed with lots of things going on. Not a LOUD click, but a more like loading click you hear from desktops. I have a Dell Latitude D600(piece of junk) Windows XP Home Edition. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help. I can get a COPY of the full Xp Home OS, to do a repair. I just can't lose my files. If that won't work, is there a way to get files off the hard drive, even when it won't load up? Thank you for your time.If your hdd is "clicking" you need to back up your stuff and replace it...NOW
Alan <>< RUN ... Don't walk to a place where you can get a new hard drive!
