Solve : Serious Problem with system restore?

Answer»

okey, so the other day i had a problem with some spyware, i used highjak this and i couldn't delete the problem, so i went to use system restore (which i've done in the past, and has solved spyware problems) so i chose the date and the computer proceeded to logout out of windows and do its thing. i then went upstairs to brush my teeth and came down and was HORRIFIED to see a BLUE screen that read:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED

then its says a bunch of other stuff like check new hardware...yada yada yada. after this it tells me to try Disable BOIS memory options such as caching or shadowing. then PROCEEDS to tell me to try to start in safe mode (to my dismay doesn't work)

Technical information:
***STOP:0x0000006B (0xC0000033, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

i tried safe mode and it did the same thing, tried booting with windows xp cd, computer ignores it even after i set my dvd rom to boot priority.

computer specs are Intel Pentuim 4 2.4 with H.T 1024 ddr ram, ATI Radeon 9550 256mb, Windows XP Proffesional. thanks in advance, cus this is really frustrating me.hi, well i've never heard of roxie or whatever the heck that is, and i didn't try upgrading windows xp. everything was ship shape untill i used system restore. the reason i used system restore is becuase i couldn't get rid of this stupid dll file, which was spyware. i looked up the error thing on the microsoft sight, it tells me to disable something called "GoBack" (i dont know what that is)
it then says this:

To disable GoBack when Windows XP Setup restarts your computer: 1. Press SPACEBAR to view the GoBack boot menu.
2. Press D (to disable goBack), press Y (yes, to confirm), and then press ENTER twice.

whats this about windows setup restarting my computer? i'm just really confused becuase they say to fix this you have to be in windows, but i cant get into windows no madder what i do. i have a feeling that my problem is a unique problem, becuase i dont have some program called "goback" or "roxie" on my computer. i'm all out of ideas to be honest......if you can help. please please REPLY. thanks

also, the error code they have is slightly different then mine

                                                                                                                                     ------in mine, the "A" is a "3"
                                          \/

I have never installed anything to do with nortan on my computer. My computer wont work in safe mode, i have never had roxio goback on my computer nor have i had any nortan software on it eitherBut you see, i dont have goback on my computer"pass>>robins relpy>>" what do you mean by this? ok, i didn't try any upgrades or install any new hardware on my computer. and i dont know how to disable bois memory options like caching or shadowing. so, if ya tell me how, i can try that. thanksalright, how exactly do i do that? I can't boot from the cd rom and the six floppy set to boot the computer also gives me an error
i posted my specs in the original message. and when you say "data" what exactly are you looking for?
Let me guess: You spoke to Merlin and he removed all his messages.

Negativo. System restore does not help resolve any type of privacy problem. It only helps hide it from the USER by making it a bigger mess. What you should have done was disable system restore before removing spyware or viruses.

It does not ignore you, it wants you to press a key before it can enter setup.
