Solve : Setup won't disappear?

Answer»

I had recently tried to INSTALL Win2k on a new drive I had set up as a slave. The installation didn't work (a needed file wasn't ABLED to be copied), so I ended up cloning the drive with Ghost. The new drive is now master (the old is off of the computer), but at startup, I get two options for OS: one win2k and the other win2k setup. How do i get the setup OS off? Thanks

933mhz P3, 256mb, Win2K SP4.Post your boot.ini fileNever on a first date!

I knew you'd come through, GX1_man!

Here it is.. i looked at it and see that it the set up is there.. just don't know how to change it

Code: [Select][Boot Loader]
Timeout=5
Default=C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT
[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Setup"
If you have a regular, not a 'restore' CD, make sure the BIOS to boot CD before Hard Disk. Boot the Win2K CD and, instead of Setup, TAKE the immediate R for Repair.

Give the command

BootCfg /Rebuild

and then exit.

Try that. It is the EASIEST and most PAINLESS way.The CD doesn't boot. I had to use the 4 floppy set up originally to set up installation. I can try that tomorrow, once I make all the floppies again, of course!

I'll post of my success (or lack of) tomorrow/
