Candidly, I've never run across that stop error before. What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?Try Start/Run type in sfc /scannow and hit Enter...
let it run to completion and re-boot...
Do NOT interrupt the process...

If not i would suspect a flakey PSU...borrow a known GOOD one of the same or greater wattage and swap it in there overnite...you'll know right away.my CD rom is not working its damaged.. and the sfc process is asking for windows cd.., and USB are disabled.. please its getting worst...

If this is the first time you have restarted after installing additional hardware, remove the hardware and restart again.

If the message continues to appear, select the Last Known Good option when you restart. If there is no Last Known Good configuration, try using the Emergency Repair Disk.

I know its for Windows 2000...

A broken CD-ROM drive? You should really consider replacing the drive-reinstalling the OS, burning discs to troubleshoot, running the recovery console, to name a few, all require a functional disc drive.Quote
