What is the Registry? The Registry is a database used to store settings and options for the 32 bit versions of Microsoft Windows including Windows 95, 98, ME and NT/2000. It contains information and settings for all the HARDWARE, software, users, and preferences of the PC. Whenever a user makes changes to a Control Panel settings, or File Associations, System Policies, or installed software, the changes are reflected and stored in the Registry.
Before we move on, we are going to make a backup of the Registry. start, Run,type Regedit, click ok.
go to the file tab export and save it.
now expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SYSTEM, CURRENT CONTROLSET,CONTROL.
you should see on the right pane that says "WAIT tokillservice" double click it.... now set the value data to 300 than click ok.
restart the computer.
Note: I am note responsible if anything happens.
If you do follow the instruction right, you should be ok.... I know this because I have done this to my computer and others as well!
