Answer» Ok. so for ahwile ive had some problems with my computer. (gateway labtop from thanksgiving about 2 years ago) and every now and then i screw with it some, in hopes to fix it. Im pretty sure it is a matter of power shortages, as my battery has short circuited. So when i access larger video/grapics demanding games such as Shaiya, or WoW the computer just turns off. I am GOING to GET a new battery and worry about it more then. Now...my dad doesnt like to listen to me when he is "fixing" my computer. So he was going through add/remove programs, and deleted sigmatel audio. Which, as it happens to be, is my sound. So i now have no sound available on the computer. I turn it up, and get no bars registering a turn on/off. So i went to the sigmatel audio download page, downloaded it, and it failed because it says the folder/drive was MISSING. Restart the computer and try again. So, i went into device manager>Sound, Video, and Game Controllers>IDT High DEFINITION Audio Codec (which is where the exclamation is)...i updated it, but there were no updates. I rolled it back, but this failed as well, seeing as the whole thing was deleted...lastly i uninstalled, ran a new hardware search, and reinstalled it, but again there was a problem showing up. Now that i had a new one in (same deal but figured hey why not, redownload maybe somethings differant) and attempted to download, but i got the same message of "The driver can not be found: Code 10" message. Not being familiar with this particular code, i looked it up, and as it says the driver either encrypted its own information, so that the computer is unfamiliar with it, or it is missing. I am nearly sure it is just missing. So how do i fix this? Any ideas? I am fairly stubborn so if anyone even has some ideas please post them, and ill give it a shot.
Thanks, CLOVER
