Answer» Running 7 64. Perhaps it's launching another version, such as the 64-bit version being pinned but launching the 32-bit version or vice versa?I suspect you're on to something. I deleted the icon, launched IE from Explorer (ie, going to the subdirectory and double-clicking), then selected THAT icon and chose it for pinning... And now it works. So maybe you were right, maybe not... Either way, all is good now. File this one under 'D'uh!'. Big fan of Taskbar pinning, myself. Prefer a clean desktop and a nice row of Taskpins! Thanks for your help, rjbI've had this with IE and Outlook a few times - I just unpinned the inactive icon, moved the icon of the open program over, and pinned that. I have no idea what exactly causes it, but it's not a common problem for me, I see it on maybe 1 in 10 machines I set up here and for the sake of two right-clicks, it's not a major problem. It's always been a one-time thing for me, never had it recur after a reboot, shutdown, logoff, or anything else. |
