I am using a Dell laptop, Windows XP. My 3.5 year old was left unattended with the computer last night and when I WENT to use it later, everything was tiny...icons, fonts, internet pages, etc. How do I get them back to normal? I tried making fonts bigger and using control + together and that works when I'm on the net but nowhere else. I feel like I'm in mini land!!! Help!!Sounds like he or she somehow changed the resolution, though it's not that easy for a 3 year old to do. Anyway, just right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose Properties. Then go to the Settings Tab and pick a lower resolution.Tried that and it looks distorted if I move it in any way.I don't have a Dell laptop in front of me at the moment, but there should be a KEY with FN in blue letters (that's the function key). A number of other keys will also have blue secondary inscriptions on them. See if any look like they will increase / decrease screen or resolution size. If so, depress the FN key and simultaneously depress or tap the other key and see what effect it has on the screen.

I've got to take off for a while, but if that doesn't do it I'm not sure what else it might be (I'm assuming you've rebooted the SYSTEM before posting, yes?).Ok. I'll try that. change the theme to a default:

Display Properties, Appearance tab. Try switching To Classic and back again (or XP style and back again).

Also check the Advanced Dialog (from the advanced button) and verify that "Icon size" is 32 or larger.

Another possibility is you have had "Use large icons" set in the "effects" dialog.

Although as ADG said these settings aren't really the type of thing a 3-year old can change, but, it happens. try holding down FN and pressing F7
sometimes it could make it slightly larger or smallerSystem Restore?
Same in Safe Mode?
