Answer» hi, is the size of RAM involving the size of virtual memory? if not, how we can predict the size of ram by address field in inst. where this field is involving the virtual address?
ID appreciate your replyRam is physical IC chips....it can neither increase or decrease. It's what it is..... the AMOUNT that's plugged into the motherboard.
Virtual memory is your Pagefile..... an area on your hard drive set aside for data storage, for your CPU chip....to SUPPLEMENT physical RAM.
OK?
Shadow Howdy Shadow... Happy New Year ! !hi, no, not okay.
no one did understand me although I was too clear . well, all what you said I know it.
one of the ways to know the size of RAM is the address field of inst. ex.: if the address field =10 bit then the size of RAM =2^10. by these 10 bits in address field , cpu should access for all ADDRESSES (virtual and physical). this information was documented in all references. my inquiry is: how cpu can access to all virtual addresses by only 10 bits which is representing the size of RAM only?
what is the timely time for you to chat?please , consider the timing.
thanks in ADVANCE
