When I go to the Skype Test ...and flunk it, I go back to check the Master Volumn. The MIC was unchecked before I went to Skype but after I go to Skype it is checked, so Skype is causing it. Help I am supposed to get a skype call for a job today!

If this USB headset device created a Audio In device, you may NEED to change Skype to use it.

On the Skype CLIENT Window do: Tools -> Options -> Sound Devices. Change the Audio In device to the device used by the USB device, make sure you click the save button.

NOTE: You may need to manually change the Audio In device back to what it was when you are not using the USB device, check the vendor documentation for any Skype specific suggestions for use with Skype in case there is a way to automate this process.


Sorry I should have included that the sound is on my LAPTOP. Toshiba laptop.When I open Master Volume and click ADVANCED The Tone Controls are set at low and I cannot change them because they are GREYED out. There is Other Controls and 1 Microphone BOOST is checked.

I have an interview for a job tomorrow on Skype and I hope someone can help me.
