I've had this PROBLEM for as long as I remember, where for example I double click a word document it loads but it takes ilke wat 6 seconds?? Even simple THINGS like a notepad text or a tiny little picture it just takes way too long. I mean my computer can play HAlf life 2 and things like that but it takes so long for a tiny little document?

2.4ghz Intel pentium 4
6800NU EVGA
756 ramScan for viruses and spyware.Yea, I do that most of the time like once EVERY week or so. Iono what the problem is, and that's the reason why I haven't really tried to fix it.Give us more information. How did this start? Is your hard drive in good health? Etc..Oh, sorry about the infoless post. Well As long as I remember I had this computer for about lets say hmm probably around 4 to 5 years. My memory isn't so great but I think it started happening like this after a while. The C drive should be in good health I don't have a harddrive doctor so I can't really say, but I did buy another hard drive that is new but windows isn't installed on it. I haven't yet tried reinstalling windows maybe that WOULD work but too much of a hassle for me.i would look into the processes that are running on youre computer and see how much Memory they are using.
check to see if there is a fair bit  Virtual Meeroy use it will slow down .
andYou can dload and run diagnostics on that HDD from the manuf. site...BTW how much free space is on the Windows drive ? ?
Should be a minimum of at least 15%
