Recently I have formatted the Pc of a friend because it was not booting correctly to Windows XP, so I decide to formatted it an reinstall the windows XP. It was fine. Then she had another slow Pc which did boot but when it opens to desktop it will hang up and nothing will work neither mouse nor Keyboard. I couldn’t format like the first Pc. So I wanted to be sure that it was only the hard disk that it was GIVING trouble so I dissembled the hard disk of the first PC and did it with the 2nd one but still it couldn’t boot up...Then I reassembled back the hard disk to the 1st Pc but a problem occurred....

The Ethernet controller was with a question mark and it said... The network card could not be configured error (code 01) I tried to download the D-link 530-tx Driver but it didn’t work (cause I checked the network card)
Then I decided to reformat the hard disk and reinstall the windows and I also changed the PCI slot for the network card...

with the result that the computer seems to be slower than ever... what could be the culprit of this slowness...even to make the installation it took ages and even to SHUT down it is taking ages...and it didn’t let me see the properties of the computer itself how slow it was so I decided to switch it of an try 2morrow.

Help me please....I am also wondering of the 2nd Pc what it might have gone wrong (something with the hardware) can you SUGGEST a good software to identify the a hardware problem and deduct if it is malfunctioning

Re-install the MBoard chipset DRIVERS...
Then re-install the network card and any other device drivers needed.please mention the configuration of the system. it might be because of using high configuration hard disk with an older motherboard.you disassembled the harddrive?
older MB I dont think so.... and I did not dissamble the hardisk, I have just got a hard drive from the 1st PC connect it to the 2nd PC which have the same MB...I still have to download the chipset drivers for the MB of thhe 1st PC... the 2nd one if i will not have the right tools I will not know the cause becuse it has more than one problem at least thats what its giving me
