i just got a brand new notebook, and recently it has been slowing down.  the sounds windows xp makes when you log in or out etc. are all SLOWED down and slurred.  I have been running virus and spyware programs but i dont seem to see ANYTHING?   any help WOULD be much appreciatedhave u tryed any clean up WIZARDS or disk defrage.
it could be something simple like there is already to many programs running. look through your add/remove programs and see what you dont needyes i have tried all of that and i have about 106gigs of free spaceWhat protection apps have you ran ? ?
Are you the only user of this machine ? ?yes i am the only user and i am using ad-aware and webroot spysweeper with anti virusGive AVG Free a try.  Update it and scan with it in Safe Mode.  See if it picks anything up.

Maybe even post a HijackThis log for everyone to take a look at (this will take several posts).ok for some reason now, i do not get any sound and when i tried to use itunes it say the sound device was missing?
