Answer» I went onto my regular account today and I had to download Direct X to view something, when I downloaded it it also came with something called SpyCrush which would not go away and began diagnosing my computer with all these viruses my professional spyware and virus detectors never found so I knew it was bogus and it kept bringing up it's stupid website on IE and it was going nuts so I had to improper shutdown before my computer lagged out, when I came on, it SAID something like this
"One or more of your personalized SETTINGS cannot be LOADED. Please contact the SYSTEM administrator if this problem persists."
What does this mean and how do I fix it to get back onto my main account? I'm on the Guest account right now which is working.Where did you get this version of DirectX ? ?
Spy Crush is scum-ware...
Somehow i believe there is more to it than this.
Can you do a system restore prior to this point ? ?
If not you need to run all your protection apps preferably in safe MODE and then dload and run HijackThis. DON"T let it fix anything yet....save the log as a text file and post it in our Virus and Spyware section.
I done a Google search for DirectX downloads and the first few pages of the sites it linked to were fine (I stopped going through them at page 3)... In no way should it have been accompanied by SpyCrush (or anything else for that matter)
Where did you download it from?
Hence my observation...
