Solve : Sometimes Windows 7 doesn´t complete startup? |
|
Answer» Sometimes, WINDOWS 7 doesn´t complete start-up; the process stops at Intel DG43NB logo screen (the number 92 shows up inside a square in the lower right corner). When I press the restart BUTTON, most of the times it works, but sometimes it requires pressing that button twice. Once started. everything goes OK. 3. Re: Intel DG43NB and windows 7 issue..Thanks. I've just known that my BIOS is from 2008 (0054) and a lot of updates have been released since then. So I've decided to accept the risk of updating it using version 0107, with NBG4310H.86A.0107.EB.EXE I'll let you know what happens.I'm now confused because my BIOS is from year 2008 and there are several updates available for it since then. Newest one is number 0107 (year 2011). See Bios rel. notes. However, I run this detector: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/dsktpboards and the result was that my "Intel driver is current". 1) Are BIOS update and Intel driver two different things? As per attachment 'Drivers & BIOS' it seems there are not, but I'm not sure. 2) Does BIOS update #0107 include all previous versions updates, or should I install each one of the updates from 2008 through 2011? [recovering disk space, attachment deleted by admin]I'd never do a BIOS flash to correct a Windows issue...just sayin.Patio, what I want to correct is the "FREEZE 92" issue, but I don't know it it's a BIOS's or a Windows' one.Replace your CMOS battery...Part # CR2032...available anywhere. Do this with ALL power unplugged.Fine, Patio, I'll do it. This is something easy, inexpensive and not time consuming. Thanks a lot! Also, has it done this the whole time you've had Win 7 installed? Or is this a new issue. If it's new then it's very unlikely that it's a BIOS issue as nothing has changed there. I totally second patio's vote for CMOS battery as a first item to check.Kyle_engineer, I installed W7 last March and keep in place XP, each in a different hard drive. The "freeze 92" failure appeared about one month, in intermittently way; It didn't show up this morning, for instance. And it happens that whenever I start from XP there's no failure at all. There's more. Under W7, my Samsung BX2235 monitor presents two empty bands 1 cm wide each, and each SIDE of its screen if set to 75 Hertz, or only one band 2 cm wide on right side only if set to 60 Hertz. It's a non usable space that appears no matter what screen resolutions I choose. This doesn't happen under XP. Whenever a battery had needed replacement I've been presented with an error message, but no message so far. So you havent replaced the CMOS battery yet ? ?...it will NOT notify when it's dying...as opposed to say a laptop battery...2 different things.I received a new monitor last night; installed it this morning, and the "Freeze 92" fails persisted. This evening I installed a new battery... and the "Freeze 92" fails persisted; it's alive and kicking. I have no idea what that means but congratulations. |
