Answer» K, here is the problem.
I am pretty good with figuring things out with computers but this time I am confused. I troubleshot my system, looked on the net but I cannot figure this out.
Yesterday I was on my computer and left it on for my little bro. Came back and used the drum machine from: "http://andrewrudson.com/drummachine/main.php" and I still had sound. I went out for dinner, came back turned on my computer logged in, opened windows media player 11, but when I went to put on music, no sound worked.
So then I checked out to see if there were any hardware issue's none, updated drivers(maybe driver issue's) + windows media player(maybe there was a registry or file error) + reinstalled directx9c(directx error maybe) + windows update + checked to see if the speakers had been blown + Ran spybot S&D(spyware issue) + AD aware SE personal + Registry Mechanic + CCleaner + Easy Cleaner + Uniblue Speed up my pc + DEVICE manager(Look for any issues). There seemed to be no problem nothing worked to fix whatever was wrong.
So I went on the net to see maybe there was something on there that may help. It told me to do things I had already done. Then I got a great idea, last thing I did that involved sound was play the drum machine program. IT WORKED, but it uses directx and I already updated that.
I am lost can anyone help. PS.System restore didn't work either and reinstalling windows in outa the question.(I did that two MONTHS ago, I 'Upgraded' from vista.
Any help would be awesome school starts in a week and I don't wanna deal with it then. I have two math courses, computer science, and a writing course. I need my computer No Windows sound, no sound from CD, no Internet sound? Is that correct? Windows XP? Did you actually uninstall CURRENT sound driver, before installing new one?
