Answer» Doing a repair of XP Pro and have SP1 installed, but keep GETTING an access denied red bang when trying to get SP2 going on this MACHINE. Had to do a repair because a registry cleaner TOOK out some settings for Windows. Tried removing all the Hotfixes and SP2 updates from the sys. in Add/Remove Prog., but that hasn't helped. Got the SP2 disk and tried downloading and installing from MS Updates but neither has worked. ALSO, turned off my AV and Firewall to see if that was the "block", but keep getting the same RedBang of BadNews! What am I missing?Are you the Administrator I have gone into Control Panel and have our profile listed as Administrator, but some of the other changes I have tried to make lead me to believe that the Admin. privilages are not applied. For instance when I go into MSCONFIG. I always get a notice that I can only make changes as an Admin. , but the changes take affect anyway. How do I make sure that Admin is the default for our profile?
