Answer» Today I switched from windows me to xp but I cannot get the .xlr spreadsheet files to open on windows xp. I got a copy of office 2000 but can't open the file. Is there a EASY program I can download to edit .xlr files from me to xp. They are kind of important. If there is no way of editing I just to view them so I can make the same spreadsheet.If I'm reading your post right, the problem isn't GOING from me to xp, but going from Works to Excel. .xlr is a Works format where .xls is the Excel extension and they are not compatible. If you still have access to Works you can go into each file and do save as and save it as an .xls file.Excel Viewer will WORK...FREE You can ALSO DLoad and install Open Office to work with those files...Also FREE Should help until you can update Office...THANKS for the quick reply, I will try excel and for open office do you mean from here. http://www.openoffice.org/Yepper...
