Solve : Startup Menu?

Answer»

I was told that I had too many programs starting up at one time. How do I know which programs are starting up when I turn on my computer? I hope I am explaining this correctly.Who told you this?

Generally this isnt a problem unless you have a slow or older computer that is causing long startup times before its loaded all services etc. Once the system if up and running you can look at the services on the task bar near the clock and figure out what ICON is what and determine which ones you WANT to get rid of.

You then can either delete specific software that you do not want that is related to a service that starts or go in and configure it to not be automatic start, but instead manual start so that your computer boots to desktop faster WITHOUT having to wait so long.

Also you can scan your system with MALWAREBYTES to get rid of malware that wants to load services etc if you havent already.

What is the make/model of the computer or if custom built the specs to look over and maybe suggest an upgrade that can help if your bottlenecked hardware wise? Are you experiencing any specific problems with your system?Go to Start menu > Type " msconfig " in search box then Enter.
Go to " Startup Tab ".
There are all programs that run in startup of windows. check which ones you want to start when windows starts and unchecked which ones you won't.
DO NOT follow the instructions in the POST above. MSCONFIG is a diagnostic utility and should not be used to make permanent changes to startup items.Agreed.
