Just recently I have had Windows Installer pop up on the screen trying to install a product called Status. Then I get a message saying the following:

An installation package for the product 'Status' cannot be found. Try the installation again USING a valid copy of the installation package 'status.msi.

Can anyone TELL me what this is about? Thanks.status.msi is a HP Printer program.  for what ever happened it's recommended to put the HP printer CD back in the Drive and direct the load from there.  Once this is done it should fix the pop up.

Well delete all that crap.....it is unknow where this bugger came from.....the only way i found to get rid of it is by opening regedit and clicking on edit and find and then type in the whole string being displayed in the install PROMPT.  Once it finds the string.  delete the key.  then OPEN internet explorer and search on any search engine gdiplus.dll  .   Once you find the site you can download it for free if you read it closely and then install it to C:\Windows\system32\ and do a full shutdown and then power back up.  The prompts should not start on boot.  I haven't seen it try it again SINCE doing that.   Good luck mate.
