Answer» Hi
I am sure you will get all the help you need from here to make a clean start, which I believe needs no knowledge of login names and passwords etc. I am in the fortunate position of never having needed to do this, so I will not offer advice myself.
You may well get assistance with password cracking etc. from other sites, BUT whilst you are downloading whatever they offer to fix your problem, they may also be "donating" malware that will SERIOUSLY damage your own computer and possibly expose your private data / credit card numbers etc. - you could end up with two useless computers and an emptied BANK account.
Regards Alan I agree with Alan. The forum policy (which I now see, thank you) does say that the forum will provide only "limited help". But the link Dusty provided is there, and it seems like quite a bit of help to me!
Quote from: msrachel on November 04, 2008, 10:21:56 AM I will try to use the administrator log on ID and the site that Dusty provided and see if that works. If it doesn't, I understand that nobody on here is GOING to TELL me so thanks for your time. I'll keep searching sites until I get what I need....thanks again.
I'm not quite sure what you would like somebody to tell you. Short of providing an actual program that cracks Windows passwords, I doubt there is much anybody on this list could do beyond the advice already given.
Please let us know how you make out.
EdAnother reason, besides those already discussed, for wanting to crack an admin password is when kids at school or employees at work want to bypass policies set by school/business system ADMINS so they can do forbidden things with the IT systems in those places, ranging from pranks (ejecting CD trays, remote shutdowns) to spying on colleagues & fellow students, and running forbidden software. The forum takes a very dim view of that kind of thing.
