Answer» Hello, I am having a problem with windows XP. When I turn on my PC I get Stop 0x000000ED(0x8239C900,0xx0000006,0x00000000,0x00000000) !!WHAT IS THIS!!. Thank you in advance for your help. What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, reinstallation of the OS, virus, error, etc)? Some windows files COULD be corrupted , after you installed a new program or delete some of them from mistake or even if you removed a program (i had this trouble with SQL SERVER 2005) , also could be the action of a virus. Hi Allan ,1) Your first post doesn't say anything that makes sense in the first paragraph. 2) System Restore may or may not help, but it's unlikely with this particular error code. I sincerely doubt that you recovered from an ED (unmountable boot volume) error with system restore. 3) We need an answer to the question(s) in my first post before we can provide intelligent input.Ok. Thanks. There was a game on cd that was played on the PC. I am unable to go to F12,F2. In F8 any choice I make leads back to BSofD. when I turn on the PC I get the games flash screen then the stop code.Could the ram be corrupted? Does it say 0x000000ED: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME?Yes,UN mountable boot volume. the complete code is in my first post. Here is a site that may help you --> http://www.rm.com/Support/TechnicalArticle.asp?cref=TEC71448 *Depending on the HD conditionI am unable to use the F menus to enter BOIS Quote from: phat12 on October 15, 2010, 07:54:45 AM There was a game on cd that was played on the PC. Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287 (or http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28744&hl=hard+drive+diagnostic) Make sure, you select tool, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive. Depending on the program, it'll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD. If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD (select "Write image file to disc" option), and make the CD bootable. For Toshiba hard drives, see here: http://sdd.toshiba.com/main.aspx?Path=ServicesSupport/FujitsuDrivesUSandCanada/SoftwareUtilities#diagnostic Note : If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from CD follow the steps here |
