Answer» MY computer is making an TICKING sound And the volume will not stay up, When i raise the volume the bar moves down agiain in succession with the ticking sound? If it was ticking/clicking and you couldn't power up, I would say it would be the power supply. SOMETIMES an inadequate power supply will cause the HD to click. Is everything else operating Ok? Is the ticking sound and the volume control the only problem?What ANTIVIRUS protection do you have?Yes that seems to be the only issue everything else seems fine and my virus prtection is Trend Micro AntivirusHow old is the MACHINE and HDD ? ? DLoad and RUN the drive maker's diagnostics from their website. It will tell you if that drive is failing.
