Hi all
Having problem with PACK bell easynote laptop, had a power cut whilst INSTALLING pinnacle now the machine just boots to windows loading screen then reboots
After DISABLING the auto reboot I now have view of the blue screen of death which reads as follows.
 oxooooooo7a (oxe19894d8,oxcooooo9c,oxbc6o8ooo,oxo7b778co)
I assume this probably means something to you guys.

I tried repairing windows from c.d made no difference, there where many files it could not delete or reinstall.
Tried chkdsk reported no problems.

Run the recovery console, logged on to c:windows  and run fix boot no difference then run fix mbr no difference

On the logon options it says

1. e:/minint
2. c:/windows
Can anyone tell me what option 1 refers to?
Starting to think format but there are some important file on this machine so only if I have to.
Option #1 refers to the recovery partition setup by the manufacturer...do you have any documentation on that laptop on doing a repair install or have you visited their website yet ? ?Hi patio

No I don’t have the docs for this machine bought second hand a while back.
Pack bell won’t let me in to their site,
I think probably the original owner has already registered this machine and without the original password you can’t get in.
Is there a way of repairing windows from the partition without losing my files?

I have done P.Cs before but with the C.D, you don’t get the X.P C.D with this type of setup so I am a bit lost.

As a last resort I will format and reinstall but not sure how to go about this without a C.D.

I am at the moment trying to get hold of a USB caddy so I can try to recover my files via. My P.C
It's impossible to do anything without your Windows CD. Also, how does a laptop suffer from a powercut? As far as I know a lot of laptops don’t come with a C.D these days, the X.P files are stored on a separate partition on the hard drive but how you access them I don’t know.

Must leave you pretty stuffed if you’re H.D dies suddenly.

I was wondering when SOMEONE was going to ask me how a laptop suffers a power cut, well stupid me didn’t have the battery connected was running direct mains when the power went off.
If you are the original owner companies frequently will sell you a restore CD for a small CHARGE or free. As you are not the original owner I don't think you will be entitle to anything from Packard Bell (much like your website experience). They appear to have such a restore CD rather than a hidden partition as others use.

Everyone needs a real Windows CD sooner or later. In your case it appears to be sooner.
