Solve : suspicious script "mshta.exe"?

Answer»

Hi all

Can anyone help? When in users acccount a McAfee script APPEARS "mshta.exe".
I know this is not a virus, more of a nuisance as I had it before but cannot remember how to get RID of it?!! Does anyone have any advice on this?

Thanks

mshta.exe is the Windows HTA interpreter. HTA's are HTML applications that RUN without a browser.

Could you explain this more:

What does this script do? Does it require any input from you? If it doesn't run, does this cause any PROBLEMS. If it does run, does it cause any problems?

Let us know. 8-)Hi Sidewinder

Thanks for the reply. The problem is when I click Change the way users log on and off A message appears...McAfee-A suspicious script has been detected.
The file mshta.exe contains suspicious scripting activity and has been stopped.
The THREE options are...Stop script(which on doing closes users account)
Allow script this time(can continue to use users log on/off)and third continue what I was doing. There doesn't seem to any bad problem with this script. But I'm still a little worried about it mainly because it shouldn't be there.
Any more advice would be appreciated

Thanks
