XP or Vista just go in safe mode and try to delete from there.
let us know! spider os is xp already tried safe mode but just GET an access denied errorok, try changing the name of the file
you may have to restart the PC than delete it. let me know if that works.
one more QUESTION, what anti virus are you using?

i have used avg 7.5, anti-malwarebytes, spyware terminator, super antispyware and spy bot search and destroy.Did you follow patio instruction?

spider slow down here- what makes you think it's a root kit? That's an ATI driver file...yeah i followed instructions and posted the logs on spyware forum.
anti malware bytes shows it as a rootkit but anything else brings up nothing. any suggestion wot i should do with it being on an ati driver fileSorry- I wasn't AWARE that it had showed up anywhere.
do you have an ATI graphics CARD? If so, you could try re-installing the drivers, which hopefully will overwrite your rootkit.
On the other hand, you're be much safer just following the instructions given by one of the malware experts.
You're in safe hands, I assure you. they know what they're doing.as far as i can see i have a sis not a ati graphics card well then! That file most definitely does not belong on your system!
