Solve : system restart automatically?

Answer»

sorry, didn't know what to write for the title.
The problem are, after i cleaning my heat sink for the processor, i start the computer the post was ok, then it suddently shutdown without a notice.
Sometimes, it came to the windows loading SCREEN,bypass it but not to windows,it stuck with a black screen with an error saying "a write operation was attempted to a volume after it was DISMOUNTED" and then shutdown after 3second displaying the info.
For your info, i did open the fans and heat sink for cleaning but it was seated back nicely.I'm sure!
I goole this but no idea for solution.
any help will be appreciated
the spec are
windows xp home edition,512mb ram.
just formated Well the CPU as well all know is the brains of are computer , taking it in and how has to be done carefully , and most of all when your adding new thermal compound you have to make sure you get any in the pins or back , in my case its pins due to have a P4 , i would take it out and wipe it down take a good hour looking at your cpu for anything out of the ordinary , once you have done that pop it back in with the system fan aka heatsink fan make sure its secure and all the while being grounded correctly a anti-static wrist strap would be ideal if you care about your computer what so ever .

Now if this fails consider taking your CPU to a trust worthy computer shop ...... get them to take a look im not going to make a judgement on whether you have messed up your CPU until you do what ive said ..... because if you was carefully and was grounded with a anti-static wrist strap then this should not of happened .

Goodluckwell. i am aware of what you telling me, but what getting weird are when i go to BIOS by pressing delete the computer will not shutdown,i repeat, WILL NOT.Then, after i escape the bios, the computer will boot like normal right, but by the time it do some work with the HDD randomly it will shutdown.I don't know when it just random. If i was lucky, i can log to windows and USE it maybe a minute or two i guess
And forgot to tell all of you, it is SATA 80Gb but i still don't have a look at the brand.sound like you have a problem and a very strange one indeed!

open up your PC and make sure all your CABLE and connectors are plug in right, also... try taking out one of your RAM... if you have an extra one in your PC.... then reboot to see what happens.

you may have not put it in right or bad ram.

if it doesn't work... try switching the other ram in to your computer.

gppdLUck! spiderThis is what was happening to my old computer. It was a P3 and it became a guinea pig to me. I would overclock that thing and all and eventually I forgot to plug the CPU fan in.. that was a sort of a problem there. The computer would also shut down without warning. It took me a couple of shutdowns before I took a careful look at it and saw the cpu fan idle. That time I felt this weird chill in my back. And I was also messing with BIOS, even though I did not know what was wrong so it was more or less random and the computer would not shut down. I guess that the CPU does not get hot enough while under BIOS.
I am not saying that your fan is not fanning or what not, but you just might consider the possibility of the CPU overheating.
I would not say any wires are loose since the system either would or would not work in most cases. The CPU is apparently fine, but when you were touching it, you might have touched the pins themselves and that might have made a difference in cooling too. These things are very fickle and evanescent if played with. well, i just add an extra thermal paste...i'm USING this pc right now, think it's fine,maybe...anyway..tq everyone...
